Job Description: The Business Systems Architect is a high-impact technical leadership role responsible for shaping the architecture, configuration, integration, and continuous improvement of the organization's business systems. This position plays a critical role in enabling efficient business operations, connecting key business systems, and delivering trusted data that supports smarter operational and strategic decision-making. In this role, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams across the organization to align system capabilities with business priorities, drive process improvements, and unlock greater value from software investments. You will solve complex challenges, influence enterprise-wide outcomes, and build scalable, reliable solutions that help the business grow. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: System Configuration and Optimization
- Configure, maintain, develop, and optimize business systems to support operational and financial business processes. System examples include Vista/Viewpoint, HCSS Modules, custom software solutions, and CRM.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and security configurations to ensure appropriate system access and compliance.
- Monitor system performance and implement enhancements to improve efficiency, usability, and reliability.
- Identify opportunities to leverage additional systems, system features, modules, or enhancements to maximize platform value.
Development, Integration, and Data Architecture
- Design, develop, test, and maintain integrations between enterprise systems including Vista/Viewpoint, HCSS Modules, Workday, and custom software solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain custom software solutions focused on solving business problems such as business process automation.
- Support API-based integrations (SOAP/REST) and file-based integrations (e.g., CSV and other structured formats).
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through monitoring, validation processes, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with data and analytics teams to support reporting, dashboards, and enterprise data initiatives.
System Upgrades and Change Management
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
- Lead regression testing and coordinate system validation for software updates or releases.
- Evaluate the impact of system changes and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure a smooth implementation.
Technical Support and Problem Resolution
- Serve as the primary technical resource for business systems such as Vista/Viewpoint and HCSS platform troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve system, integration, or data issues.
- Coordinate with vendor support teams as needed to resolve complex issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between IT and business teams to ensure business systems support operational needs.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders regarding system capabilities and best practices.
- Participate in cross-department initiatives that require business systems due diligence and selection, design, configuration, or data integration.
Compliance, Reporting, and Data Governance
- Support internal audit, compliance, and financial reporting requirements through accurate system configuration and reporting.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate system and integration documentation, as well as technical standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in business systems projects, system improvements, and technology initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sr. Director of Information Technology.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; an associate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Minimum of 7 yearsof technical experience supporting enterprise business solutions
- Advanced experience in SQL development, database troubleshooting, and data analysis.
- Experience with SQL Server architecture design, performance tuning, and database indexing strategies.
- Experience in logical and physical data modeling.
- Experience in planning and executing data migrations and system data validation.
- Experience developing and supporting API-based integrations (SOAP and REST).
- Experience developing and supporting file-based integrations, including CSV and other structured data formats.
- Experience working within Microsoft Azure environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft development platforms and tools such as Visual Studio, Power Apps, Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, Claude, ChatGPT, Power Automate.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving technology environment.
- Demonstrated customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Experience with Crystal Reports and/or Power BI reports design and development.
- Experience with Microsoft Synapse Analytics.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric analytics platform.
- Familiarity with Microsoft collaboration and productivity tools, including Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience supporting business solutions within construction, infrastructure, or project-based industries.
OTHER:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to maintain a satisfactory MVR.

Required PPE must be worn as directed, including a hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, hearing protection, and safety-toe footwear. Additional Job Description: Base Compensation: $100,000 - $133,500 The base salary range may vary depending on geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
