JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a temporary part-time professional to support and advance sustainability initiatives across the College. This position will provide leadership, coordination, and administrative support for sustainability-related programs, committees, strategic initiatives, and partnerships. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and University stakeholders to promote sustainability goals and support ongoing projects and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of college sustainability initiatives and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate sustainability-related committees, councils, working groups, and meetings.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to advance sustainability efforts.
  • Assist with the evaluation, recommendation, and administration of sustainability-focused projects and funding opportunities.
  • Represent the College on University committees and sustainability-related initiatives.
  • Organize workshops, presentations, educational programs, and outreach activities.
  • Support student engagement opportunities related to sustainability.
  • Assist with sustainability recognition, awards, and special events.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Perform other sustainability-related duties as assigned.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
