Schedule: On-Site Role - 3rd Shift (Mon-Fri 10:30pm-7:00am) - Must be able to train on 1st and/or 2nd shift.
TIG Welder - 3rd Shift
Training Requirement: Candidates must be available to train on 1st and/or 2nd shift prior to transitioning to 3rd shift.
Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join its growing production team. This position plays a critical role in repairing and manufacturing high-value aerospace components while maintaining the highest standards of precision, quality, and safety.
The ideal candidate has experience performing precision TIG welding in a manufacturing environment, enjoys working with complex aerospace components, and takes pride in producing exceptional workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform precision TIG welding on aerospace components, fixtures, and assemblies in accordance with engineering specifications and approved procedures.
- Repair damaged aircraft components by welding cracks, defects, and worn areas while maintaining dimensional integrity.
- Weld titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and other aerospace materials using established welding procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and technical documentation.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to support new product development, process improvements, tooling enhancements, and repair methods.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, bead profile, penetration, and compliance with customer specifications.
- Blend, grind, and polish welded areas while maintaining minimum wall thickness and dimensional requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges to verify finished components.
- Complete production documentation and maintain accurate manufacturing records.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three (3) years of TIG welding experience in an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to successfully complete aerospace welding qualification tests and obtain required aircraft welding certifications.
- Experience welding titanium, aluminum, stainless steel, nickel alloys, or other aerospace materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new manufacturing processes.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to lift, move, and position parts and materials as required.
Ability to safely wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, respirator (when required), and other safety equipment.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
