Reporting to: Engineering Manager

We are looking for an Engineering Technician who is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and passionate about supporting innovative manufacturing processes. Job Summary

The Engineering Technician supports the Engineering Department by creating and maintaining engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation, and product records while assisting with process improvements and new product development. This position works closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to ensure designs are accurate, documentation is current, and production processes operate efficiently.

This role plays a key part in supporting manufacturing operations by developing technical drawings, managing engineering changes, maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.



What You'll Do



  • Create, revise, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Develop fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Support engineers with product design updates and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Generate and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and technical specifications.
  • Assist with fixture, tooling, and manufacturing equipment design projects.
  • Review engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinate drawing revisions and maintain engineering document control.
  • Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to ensure manufacturing documentation accurately reflects current processes.
  • Support new product introductions by preparing production documentation and engineering records.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with workflow analysis, time studies, and production optimization projects.
  • Create manufacturing layouts and equipment arrangement drawings for production areas.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Maintain engineering records within ERP and document management systems.
  • Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.
  • Support additional engineering projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required



  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience supporting engineering or manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Proficiency using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or similar design platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience creating manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.



Preferred



  • Experience supporting manufacturing engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Bill of Materials management.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and engineering change management.



Physical Requirements



  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to safely access manufacturing areas for project support, measurements, and process observations.
  • Ability to walk throughout the manufacturing facility as needed.



Working Conditions



  • Primarily office-based within a manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Manufacturing personnel.
  • Regular exposure to active manufacturing environments while supporting engineering projects.
  • PPE required when working in production areas.
