Position Description:

Reporting to the Community Life District Manager, the AMC Operations Coordinator (OC) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Anna Mae Cole (AMC) Center located at Mildred C. Hailey Apartments. The AMC is a new construction community center connected to 2 Lamartine Street, a new residential building, with a half-basketball court, multipurpose room, full kitchen and office spaces. The AMC Center is open to Mildred Hailey residents in addition to residents living in Jackson Square and other Boston neighborhoods. This position has a requirement of five days a week in office.

The OC coordinates the daily programming and space uses, assists in development of partnerships for the AMC, develops a monthly calendar of activities occurring in the AMC Center, greets visitors of the AMC Center, and assists residents and organizations who wish to reserve the space for private events. Other responsibilities include:

Community Life Service Coordinator role at TCB



  • Conduct orientations for new visitors
  • Responsible for all AV equipment and ensuring it is in working condition, including the set up and storage of all equipment.
  • Coordinate the set-up of space (tables, chairs, collapsible walls), ensuring that the space is cleaned by users, coordinating deposits and any fees associated with the use of the space
  • Develop a monthly calendar of activities occurring in the AMC and Innovation Center, located at 6 Lamartine Street, and ensure distribution
  • Conduct outreach in diverse forms of communication with residents, including newsletters, flyers, telephone calls and door-knocking
  • Use of TCB's data collection system, CL Connect to document services provided to residents and outcomes achieved
  • Track and report on progress using Power BI as required by partners and funders to fulfill grant and other commitments
  • Ensure participation in site-based team meetings at least twice a month.
  • Refer residents to Property Management, Community Life and other organizations as needed
  • Coordinate and communicate with other Community Life staff at Mildred Hailey and Jackson Square area to ensure the best services for residents and community members
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, at least 12 hours per year that pertain to the position
  • Recruit and lead volunteers and interns to assist at the AMC Center
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in human services, customer service, or similar field with families of diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of the Boston social resources
  • Understand concepts relating to community engagement, public health, trauma-informed care and other social determinants of health
  • Ability to understand and respect values, attitudes, and beliefs that differ across cultures and to respond appropriately to these differences in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of protocols and systems
  • Capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to collect, track and understand data to assess programs and partnerships and inform strategies
  • Operate in a timely manner, with consistency and a high level of integrity and professionalism, provide excellent customer service to all visitors of the AMC Center
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving and writing skills
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies affecting housing is a plus.
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings is required
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker strongly preferred


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in social work, human services, public health, or community development
  • At least 2+ years of overall professional experience working with families, older adults and/or people with disabilities in housing or human services agencies required
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and other computer programs
