We are currently searching for an experienced CEI Contract Support Specialist to support our Southeast Region located in Forsyth County, GA.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a High School Diploma or equivalent.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversees infrastructure construction processes related to materials and compensation
  • Directs work that involves specialized or complex engineering construction payment and record keeping processes for progress and final estimates
  • Provides administrative support
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates contract administration tasks for CEI and Design projects to assure compliance with the contract documents and other applicable guidelines
  • Monitors construction costs, negotiating prices for contract modifications with contractors
  • Writes or supervises the preparation of reports and correspondence, and communicates with contractors, supervisors, local agency officials, subordinates, and the general public
  • Documents pertinent project activities in order to maintain accurate records. Implements QC/QA procedures and documentation as directed by senior staff
  • Understands and adheres to assigned phase and project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of project
  • Supports the implementation, execution, documentation, and compliance of federal/state/local EEO, DBE, OJT, and other similar programs
  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to field office personnel, including office administration, fleet management, and other general office tasks

What you need to have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 4 years of road and bridge CEI experience OR a Civil Engineering Degree
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction contract administration function
  • Communication Skills: Must have above average oral and written language skills. Conveys information clearly and effectively through formal and informal documents.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organization and prioritization skills to handle changing tasks and priorities.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to use computer and other basic office equipment. Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software for work involving setting up and using spreadsheets, data entry, do basic formatting, including the ability to type quickly and accurately. Commonly used packages include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Outlook, PrC, and other owner furnished software programs.
  • High degree of professional judgment; ability to generate trust and retain confidentiality.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
