You'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships across the firm while expanding your business development expertise and contributing to high-profile initiatives.

Maintaining an in-office presence is important to delivering our services through an integrated and collaborative work culture. What you'll do:

  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple business and client development projects, demonstrating flexibility as priorities evolve.

  • Drive projects from development through completion while ensuring deliverables remain on schedule and within scope.

  • Draft and edit correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, visual resources, and other client-facing materials, collaborating with colleagues across departments to format, proofread, print, and compile deliverables to firm standards.

  • Draft and coordinate pitches, RFP responses, presentations, and responses to ad hoc requests under the direction of managers and department leadership.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work product while managing multiple deadlines.

  • Work with the Marketing and Events teams to develop event content, identify business generation opportunities, and coordinate post-event follow-up.

  • Manage, monitor, and track business development initiatives to support department goals and strategic priorities.

  • Leverage firm tools to manage data, conduct research using internal and external resources, and create tracking tools, reports, and databases that support business development activities.

  • Assist with budget development, maintenance, and tracking.

What sets this role apart:

  • Innovation Focus: Support lawyers advising clients in practice areas at the forefront of evolving legal and business challenges.

  • Career Development: Build specialized knowledge in high-growth practice areas while taking on increasingly strategic projects with opportunities to demonstrate impact and advance your career.

  • Engagement: Gain hands-on experience through regular interaction with lawyers, firm leadership, and professional staff while strengthening your communication, networking, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Flexibility: Morgan Lewis recognizes the benefits of supporting flexible working arrangements. This role offers a hybrid three (3) days per week in-office schedule in our New York, Philadelphia, or Washington, DC office, providing flexibility while supporting our collaborative, team-based culture.

  • Culture of Excellence: Join a collaborative, forward-thinking team recognized for creativity, responsiveness, and exceptional client service.

Who we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, client development, consulting, strategy development, or a directly related field, preferably within a law firm or other professional services or consulting organization.

  • Experience managing mid- to large-scale projects while coordinating multiple stakeholders and priorities.

  • Proven success developing and implementing strategic business development plans and initiatives.

  • Experience working effectively in a highly matrixed environment across multiple business units and functional teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with lawyers, firm leadership, and colleagues at all levels.

  • Results-oriented with the ability to balance competing priorities, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.

  • Sound business judgment, strong reasoning skills, and the confidence to influence decision-making while working with senior leadership.

  • Innovative, highly motivated, and self-directed, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and database applications, along with the ability to quickly learn new technology and software.

  • Flexibility to adjust work schedules when time-sensitive deliverables require additional support.
