Stellantis is looking for technology driven individuals with a love for hardware design. We are seeking high-potential candidates to join our Central Computing team responsible for in-house hardware design of the latest in Electronic Controller technology: such as High-Performance Computers (HPCs), Zone Controllers (ZCUs) and Propulsion Supervisors. The position is for a Hardware Architect role supporting one of the many in-house hardware design projects. Main Responsibilities:
- Develop both physical and functional electrical architecture from concept through production.
- Develop electrical block diagrams describing major components and interfaces.
- Create functional diagrams that specify and describe functional interfaces, timing, and other dynamic aspects of the hardware.
- Support technical simulations (e.g. thermal simulation) and technical analysis methods (e.g. DFMEA).
- Defining acceptance criteria, operating parameters, configurations, use cases, and requirements.
- Interpret results against acceptance criteria.
- Develop solutions for any discovered weaknesses in the design.
- Ownership of architectural decisions and the resulting design documentation.
- Close collaboration with Vehicle Planning, System Engineering and Software Engineering to ensure the Hardware Architecture fulfills all stakeholder needs now and into the future.
- Support the portfolio of in-house Hardware products by defining a roadmap for design evolutions, new variants, and new products.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related degree field
- A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
- A minimum of 3 years of Electronic Control Unit (ECU) design experience or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of vehicle-level electrical architecture and software architecture
- Strong knowledge of Microcontroller and/or System on Chip design and applications
- Strong knowledge of automotive safety standards
- Strong knowledge of automotive development milestones from concept to production
- Expertise in at least one vehicle system domain of automotive (e.g. Propulsion, Infotainment, Body, or ADAS)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on abstract technical and operational tasks
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical and non-technical inputs to set strategy and resolve difficult challenges
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts for comprehension across internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to understand electrical schematics, datasheets, user manuals, and debug logs/traces.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex technical issues of electronic control units and/or electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge (10+ years) in Electrical Design of Electronic Control Units for Propulsion, Infotainment, ADAS or Body applications.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable automotive regulations and safety standards including ISO 26262
