Job Description

The Senior Compliance Attorney for International Affairs is responsible for compliance with U.S. regulations relevant to international trade, and for managing the legal aspect of the international distribution of the Company's U.S. brands. The regulatory work will include compliance with export controls, economic sanctions, customs law and other regulations affecting international trade. The attorney must be deeply interested in international affairs, and knowledgeable about the geopolitical climate and regulatory trends. The distribution work will include the drafting and management of international distribution contracts. The position reports to the lead for Global Compliance, who has a solid reporting line to the Chief Audit and Compliance Officer and a dotted line reporting to the Office of the General Counsel of FCA US LLC.

Job Responsibilities



  • Provide legal advice and counsel to Stellantis business groups on OFAC sanctions, restricted party vetting, BIS export controls, Anti-Forced Labor law and related issues.


  • Provide legal advice to Customs law, including U.S. Tariffs.


  • Conduct global Legal Compliance questionnaires.


  • Draft and review international distribution agreements and manage distribution related litigation.
  • Collaborate with international compliance team to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of the company's global Compliance Program, including in the drafting and review of policies and the design and deployment of controls.


Basic Qualifications



  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a strong academic background


  • 10+ years of legal practice, including 3+ years in an outside law firm setting


  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state


Preferred Qualifications



  • Articulate, Multi-lingual
  • Fluent in Mandarin
  • Specialized Trade Attorney
  • Experience and interest in international business matters


  • Businessminded, peopleoriented approach with the ability to deliver practical legal solutions in a fastpaced environment


  • Ability to identify issues, assess risk, and develop clear options and recommendations for business stakeholders


  • Creative, willing to propose solutions that challenge the status quo


  • Sound judgment and ownership mindset, including the ability to escalate issues appropriately


  • Interest in developing a deep understanding of the automotive business
