In the role of Project Accountant II, we'll count on you to:

Independently manage project billing, accounts receivable collections, budget tracking, and nancial reporting for assigned projects. -
Review, maintain, and administer project contracts, including accurate entry and maintenance of project fees, budgets, funding, and contract modications. -
Partner with project managers and department leadership to provide timely and accurate nancial data, analyze project performance, and identify potential risks or opportunities. -
Monitor project nancial activity to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, and accounting standards. -
Serve as a resource for project teams by resolving project accounting issues and providing guidance on nancial processes and procedures. -
Coordinate project accounting functions within the department and collaborate with technical staff to support nancial accuracy and operational efficiency. -
Provide backup support for accounts payable processing, expense reports, timesheet review and processing, and project cost coding. -
Assist multiple project managers and teams in managing project nancials, contract administration, and reporting requirements. -
Prepare and analyze project-related nancial reports to support decision-making and project protability. -
Support audits and internal reviews by ensuring project documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible. -
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of project accounting, accounting, or finance experience, preferably within
a project-based professional services environment. - Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is
strongly preferred. - Demonstrated knowledge of project accounting principles, including contract
administration, project billing, revenue recognition, budgeting, cost tracking, and accounts receivable management. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude for financial reporting
and data analysis. - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional
attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively
partner with project managers, technical staff, and leadership. - Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work
independently in a fast-paced environment.
Upon completion of initial training and subject to operational needs, this position may be approved to work remotely up to 1.5 days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience; an advanced degree may offset years of experience
- Familiar with Earned Value Management
- Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
