Midwest Center for Youth and Families is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our team!

Available Hours: Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm or 7am - 3:30pm (40 hours/week)

We are dedicated to care of the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10 - 18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges.

The Patriot Support Program at Midwest Center offers specialized treatment designed to address the behavioral health needs and challenges of the children of active-duty military, reserve, and national guard members.

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and general maintenance, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols. The maintenance worker responds promptly to maintenance requests, conducts routine inspections, documents completed work, and assists with facility improvements to minimize disruptions to patient care. Job Duties/Responsibilities:

*Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment

*Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, flooring, and other facility-related issues

*Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and emergency repair requests

*Maintain facility equipment, tools, and mechanical systems in safe working condition

*Perform routine grounds maintenance, including snow removal, landscaping, and exterior upkeep as needed

*Assist with room renovations, furniture assembly, equipment installation, and office moves

*Complete maintenance records, work orders, inspections, and preventative maintenance documentation accurately and timely

*Follow all safety procedures, infection prevention practices, and regulatory requirements

*Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, fire and life safety standards, and organizational policies

*Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance supplies and notify supervisor of needed materials

*Work collaboratively with department leaders to minimize disruptions to patient care during maintenance activities

*Participate in emergency preparedness activities and respond to facility emergencies as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

*High School diploma or GED preferred
*One year to three years of maintenance experience preferred
*Must be 21 years old

*Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday

*Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly; heavier loads with assistance or mechanical equipment

*Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions

*Climb ladders and work from elevated surfaces as needed
