*Job Overview*
The Senior of App Strategy will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of Macy's app growth and engagement roadmap, ensuring the Macy's app delivers a best-in-class, personalized experience that deepens customer connection and drives measurable business impact. This role will own strategies that increase app adoption, activation, frequency, and retention, creating seamless, data-informed experiences that connect customer, marketing, product, and technology priorities across the Macy's ecosystem.
You will serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, shaping the role of the app within Macy's broader customer strategy. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and strategic skills with a deep understanding of digital customer behavior, mobile commerce, and engagement frameworks that convert downloads into loyal, high-value customers.
*What You Will Do*
* *Lead App Strategy:* Define and execute Macy's end-to-end app growth and engagement strategy, driving downloads, activation, and repeat usage while aligning with enterprise goals for loyalty, personalization, and revenue.
* *Own the App Roadmap:* Develop and manage the long-term app strategy and quarterly priorities across acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention. Identify key opportunities to evolve the app experience through marketing and product innovation.
* *Advance Personalization in the App:* Partner with data science, product, and lifecycle teams to enhance app-based personalization, leveraging behavioral, contextual, and predictive signals to deliver more relevant content, offers, and experiences.
* *Bridge Marketing & Product:* Collaborate with product managers, UX, and engineering to translate marketing strategies into in-app experiences that drive measurable engagement and sales performance.
* *Champion Test-and-Learn:* Lead experimentation across the app funnel, testing engagement levers such as push notifications, in-app messaging, loyalty integrations, and offer design to optimize conversion and retention.
* *Measure & Optimize Performance:* Establish clear KPIs for app growth and engagement. Partner with analytics to build dashboards, quantify impact, and inform ongoing optimization through data-driven insights.
* *Collaborate Across Teams:* Partner with Lifecycle, Loyalty, and Marketing teams to align app experiences with customer journeys, campaign launches, and enterprise priorities. Represent App Strategy in enterprise marketing and product forums.
* *Advocate for Our Customers:* Maintain a deep understanding of mobile user behaviors and expectations. Ensure all app initiatives reflect Macy's brand values, deliver a seamless user experience, and drive long-term loyalty.
* *Drive Innovation & Industry Awareness:* Stay at the forefront of mobile trends, technologies, and competitive benchmarks. Identify opportunities to differentiate the Macy's app and elevate its role in the omnichannel customer experience.
*Skills You Will Need *
* Proven experience driving mobile app growth and engagement through data-driven strategy, user experience optimization, and marketing integration.
* Deep understanding of mobile app ecosystems, performance metrics, and retention levers.
* Strong analytical acumen with experience building and interpreting performance dashboards and business cases.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
* Experience partnering with product, UX, engineering, and analytics teams to translate marketing insights into product solutions.
* Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, digital-first environment.
* Familiarity with app analytics tools (e.g., Firebase, Appsflyer, Sensor), MarTech platforms (e.g., Braze, Adobe Journey Optimizer), and A/B testing frameworks.
* Passion for retail innovation, mobile technology, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
*Who You Are** *
* Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) and 6-8+ years of relevant experience in app marketing, personalization, CRM, or loyalty strategy are encouraged to apply.
* Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
* Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
