Press Operator
This is an entry level position. Starting Pay: Based on experience + $3 Shift Differential Third Shift Required Hours: Monday - Thursday: 7pm - 5am Friday: 3pm - 11pm Optional Hours: Saturday or Sunday Position Summary The Press Operator supports the set-up and operation of the press and performs work assignments as directed by the department Leader. This role is responsible for material handling, product preparation, quality checks, equipment support, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Demonstrates a commitment to Schneller values and supports the organization's focus on quality products and processes. * Follows all company policies, procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements. * Retrieves materials from the Dry Room and Cut Room and transports them to the press using a tow motor. * Reads and follows WOT instructions to build product according to specifications. * Assists the Operator with loading the press once product is prepared. * Unloads cooling racks and places materials at designated tables. * Performs in-process inspection of materials during production. * Tickets, marks, and identifies in-process and raw materials before they leave the department. * Places materials in the appropriate storage areas. * Operates auxiliary equipment as needed to support plant operations. * Obtains and properly identifies required Q.C. test samples. * Communicates product quality concerns to the department Leader. * Reports maintenance needs or equipment issues to the department Leader. * Maintains a clean and organized work area and equipment to support product quality and workplace safety. * Resolves or reports safety concerns immediately. * Maintains established quality standards by following proper procedures, specifications, instructions, and material-handling requirements. * Completes required records for inventory control, timekeeping, productivity tracking, and daily logs. * Accurately follows oral and written instructions. * Meets attendance requirements for the position. * Performs other duties as required to support plant operations. Qualifications and Requirements * Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. * Basic computer skills required. * Ability to learn and follow equipment operating procedures, safety policies, and company work instructions. * Ability to understand related business processes, procedures, and applicable company policies. * Ability to safely operate a tow motor. * Must meet eligibility requirements under applicable U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR 120.15 and EAR Part 772, and be eligible for any required U.S. government authorizations. Physical Requirements Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation: * Stand in place for 8-10 hours per day. * Safely move around in an industrial/manufacturing environment. * Lift up to 50 pounds. * Bend and crouch as needed. * Use hands and grip strength to handle, grasp, and roll materials. * Grip up to 36 pounds with a 2-inch hand opening. * Roll material up to 12 feet in length. Applicants must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Must be able to lift 40-50lbs Overtime: Available & we are looking for someone eager to work extra hours. | |
