3rd Shift- Press Leader
POSITION SUMMARY The Leader is responsible for planning and coordinating employee work activities within the designated work center or area to ensure safe, quality, and on-time production/delivery to support company goals. Leaders also perform administrative tasks related to their position to ensure accurate and timely electronic or paper recording and documentation of information, effective utilization of assigned employees, and to assist the Production Supervisor with performance management and other activities. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Demonstrates Schneller values and shares the organizational commitment to ensuring quality products and processes. * Responsible for appropriate set-up, adjustment, and operation of designated equipment or area of the equipment to achieve quality and on-time results. * Plans, assigns, coordinates, and monitors work within the assigned area, adjusting as necessary to ensure safety, quality/aesthetics, and productivity are maximized while meeting on-time performance requirements. This includes coordination and communication with supervision and other work centers and employees. * Ensures compliance to company policies, procedures, and standards regarding safety, quality, and production by training, instructing, and monitoring team members and ensures the quality of product before further processing, performing quality checks as appropriate during the process, providing any required samples. * Works with team members to improve performance, safety, and quality and provides feedback to Production Supervisor regarding performance concerns as appropriate and for performance evaluation process. * Promotes a positive work environment by setting an appropriate example. * Looks for ways to continually improve processes, makes recommendations, and assists with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. * Participates in and may lead employee work center communication meetings. * Completes electronic or paper documentation on an accurate and timely basis, including but not limited to, material transactions, timesheets, NCR, ECR, daily logs, and work order travelers as required by the position. * Reports any maintenance requirements to Maintenance Department and Production Supervisor through established process. * Reports any deviation from a Process Engineering Guideline or needed change in processing specifications to Process Engineering Department and Production Supervisor * Maintains a clean and organized work area and equipment to ensure a quality product and a safe and efficient work environment, resolving or reporting any safety issues. * May be required to safely and effectively operate auxiliary equipment associated with in their area of the work center, including the occasional operation of a powered industrial truck (forklift). * Maintains inventory for each specified machine. * Performs other assignments as required by Management. * Meets attendance requirements for position. Press Leader (SQJ009) - as noted above under Essential Responsibilities, plus: * Coordinates people and jobs between the cut room and press room with the Cut Room Leader in order to maximize throughput, create efficient workflow and meet on-time delivery requirements. Knowledge of and ability to learn and apply the following: * Ability to perform all tasks and activities for positions associated with the cut room and press room in order to fill in and back-up during absences and periods of high activity. | |
