This position provides an opportunity to develop professional experience in housing operations, facilities management, occupancy management, student development, and staff supervision while working directly with students and campus partners. Position Summary The Area Coordinator for Housing Operations provides oversight of the day-to-day operations of UAM's residence halls and university apartments. The position manages housing assignments and occupancy through StarRez Housing Management Software, coordinates facilities and custodial needs, supports housing transitions and summer conferences, and assists with student development, conduct, and crisis response. This role provides broad experience in housing administration, operations, facilities coordination, data management, assessment, and student support to prepare the successful candidate for future advancement in Housing and Residence Life. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the day-to-day operations of residence halls and university apartments. Manage housing applications, assignments, room changes, cancellations, contracts, rosters, and occupancy data through StarRez. Generate and analyze housing and occupancy reports to support departmental planning and decision-making. Coordinate housing selection, opening, closing, break housing, and transition processes. Conduct room inspections and monitor room readiness, maintenance, furniture, cleanliness, and safety. Serve as the departmental liaison with Facilities Management and monitor work orders through completion. Provide operational oversight of custodial services and residential cleaning schedules. Support student engagement, programming, conflict resolution, and student success. Participate in the professional on-call rotation and respond to residential emergencies. Supervise student workers and provide operational oversight of custodial staff. Participate in university committees, recruitment, orientation, and other departmental initiatives.
