JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION The Senior Manager of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for the technical management, supervision, and control of industrial production processes at assigned locations. This position ensures the achievement of the established metrics and standards for safety, quality, production, customer service, and people management. This position ensures corporate goals and objectives are met at all levels.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead and enforce safety, compliance, and regulatory standards (e.g., EH&S, OSHA, EPA), ensuring a safe and compliant work environment
  • Oversee end-to-end lab operations, including production flow, quality, turnaround time, and service levels
  • Drive operational performance/efficiency: budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and resource allocation
  • Analyze data, trends, and performance metrics to identify gaps, set strategy, and drive continuous improvement
  • Implement/sustain Lean, Six Sigma, process improvement initiatives to improve quality, yield, and productivity
  • Ensure quality standards are consistently met in work inspection and audit processes
  • Monitor and optimize workflow, staffing, and capacity planning to meet production and service demands
  • Establish and drive accountability for performance metrics, including production, quality, safety, and cost
  • Lead, coach, and develop building capability, engagement, and succession pipelines
  • Execute full people management responsibilities, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and corrective action
  • Foster a positive, engaging and inclusive environment that reflects company values, teamwork, and accountability
  • Partner cross-functionally with engineering, maintenance, quality, and customer service to improve operations and resolve issues
  • Oversee equipment, facilities, and maintenance performance.
  • Manage inventory control and asset utilization to support operational efficiency and cost control
  • Maintain strong customer focus, ensuring service levels, accuracy, and responsiveness meet expectations
  • Ensure training and cross-training programs are in place to build skill depth, flexibility, and operational resilience


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8-10+ years of experience leading teams in a lean manufacturing or production environment
  • Proven experience in high-volume, complex production environments
  • Leadership & Business Capabilities - ability to develop strategic plans and drive execution
  • Ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and engage teams, including leadership development
  • Skilled in resolving conflict and managing employee relations issues effectively
  • Experience managing budgets, expenses, and operational performance metrics
  • Ability to analyze data, workflow, and production trends to drive improvements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn systems such as SAP or equivalent ERP systems
  • Ability to travel as needed to support lab operations


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Master's degree in Business or related field


Experience in the optical manufacturing industry


Advanced experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies in production environments

Pay Range:120,005.95-181,649.02
