HealthPartners Medical Group is seeking a BC/BE Neurocritical Care (NCC) Physician to join the NCC team at Regions Hospital, Minnesota's first Comprehensive Stroke Center and a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center. Regions Hospital serves as a major referral center for complex neurologic, neurosurgical, cerebrovascular, and traumatic neurologic disease throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Position Overview

The NCC Physician will join an established team of five neurointensivists and Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) to provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients with acute neurologic and neurosurgical disorders in a high-acuity, collaborative environment.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide attending physician coverage for the NCC service.

  • Lead multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care for critically ill neurologic and neurosurgical patients.

  • Supervise, mentor, and partner with APCs while contributing to the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners.

  • Manage patients with acute cerebrovascular, neuromuscular, neurosurgical, and traumatic neurologic conditions, as well as other neurologic emergencies.

  • Participate in department meetings, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, and other activities that support clinical operations, professional collaboration, continuing education, and program development.

Practice Environment

  • Established NCC team consisting of five experienced neurointensivists and a growing number of APCs.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited NCC fellowship and Board Certified or Board Eligible in NCC.

  • Eligible for unrestricted Minnesota medical licensure.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the management of critically ill neurologic and neurosurgical patients.

  • Ability to independently perform procedures commonly used in critical care settings, such as central and arterial line placement, bronchoscopy, lumbar puncture, and point-of-care ultrasound.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience practicing in a dedicated NCC unit.

  • Expertise in multimodal neuromonitoring, including continuous EEG and intracranial pressure monitoring.

  • Interest in clinical research, medical education, quality improvement, leadership, or program development.
