The University of Arizona's Athletics Department invites you to apply for the role of Athletics Professional II, Athletics Facilities. This position provides technical support for Athletics Facilities by assisting with daily facility operations, event setup and teardown, athletic practices, and routine facility maintenance while supporting a safe and efficient environment for Arizona Athletics.

This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate facility set-up, transitions, and take down for various sporting events, ensuring proper safety protocols and standards have been met, including but not limited to bleacher and stand set-up and safety protocols.
  • Remove equipment after events and safely store it for future use.
  • Support leadership in the execution and planning of daily, routine, and non-routine facility operations and upkeep for multiple sport facilities.
  • Provide coordination and oversight for maintaining facility equipment and perform repairs as needed. Inspect for damage after all games and practices and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Use past experience and learning to solve problems such as those related to scheduling, set-up, and visitor and home team needs.
  • Coordinate the work of staff (facility attendants) to ensure appropriate set-ups of athletic facilities, scoreboards, clocks, etc.
  • Participate in department planning and assessment activities. Represent athletic facilities in staff meetings and/or department committees. Oversee facility management responsibilities for athletic facilities for various meetings, games, and practices.
  • Participate in operations staff training activities.
  • Coordinate post-season and pre-season sporting events in terms of facility set-up and requirements set forth by the Conference and NCAA.
  • Budget accountability.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of NCAA, Big 12, and University of Arizona rules and procedures.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities, and successfully manage multiple priority projects.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels while projecting a positive and professional attitude.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Demands

  • Lifting: Ability to lift, move, and transport up to 40 lbs.
  • Outdoor Environment: Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
  • Extreme Cold: Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for more than an hour.
  • Extreme Heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for more than an hour.
  • Noise: May work in environments with noise levels that require raised voices to communicate effectively.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Four (4) or more years of experience in facilities operations, athletics operations, event management, or a related area.
  • Experience working within a college, university, or intercollegiate athletics environment.
