Advanced Platform Design & Integration Engineer

The Advanced Platform Design & Integration Engineer is responsible for designing and developing new vehicles which meet program targets based on customer input, competitive targets and future regulatory requirements. This group is responsible for vehicle architecture, platform integration, and initial system and component engineering designs. In addition, the team resolves packaging and adaptation issues as the vehicles move toward production. The engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, translating strategic and functional objectives into technical requirements, creating and analyzing alternative design concepts, packaging and integrating systems and components, and benchmarking of competitive vehicles. The candidate will achieve these tasks by leading an extended cross functional team to balance all requirements to achieve the most optimal solution. Presentation of design concepts to higher levels of management will be required.

In addition to the above, the engineer will be focused on chassis system development, including initial suspension and steering concept development, hardpoints, kinematics and travels, tire packaging, halfshaft development, component design and analysis (CAE), vehicle packaging (NX/VisMockup), and model integrity (Teamcenter).

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program


  • A minimum of 5 years of automotive platform engineering experience. A minimum of two years in chassis design/development.


  • Expertise in Teamcenter, Vis Mockup & NX CAD Software with demonstrated skills to:


  • Develop and manage CAD data structures.


  • Position and manipulate models, cut sections, analyze existing designs.


  • Packaging (component clearances) and integration assessments.


  • Create specialized CAD sessions to support high level and detailed management reviews.


  • Excellent communication skills to lead others and to coordinate and resolve issues across all of Stellantis' global regions.


  • Able to effectively operate independently and in a cross-functional team environment


  • Strong Microsoft Office skills



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical from an ABET accredited.


  • Broad vehicle knowledge


  • Ability to integrate stakeholder requirements into final vehicle design


  • Excellent relationship building skills


  • Ability to productively manage change


  • Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management


  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
