Float Phlebotomist II

Duration: 3+ Months

Location: 7 McDowell St, Asheville, NC

Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Start and end times will vary based on the location being covered.)

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II for a float position supporting multiple Patient Service Centers (PSCs) and IOP locations throughout the Asheville area. The ideal candidate will be comfortable traveling between sites and have experience collecting specimens from both pediatric and geriatric patients.

• Other nearby IOP and PSC locations as needed

• Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect blood specimens from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Label, process, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for transport.
• Verify patient information and laboratory requisitions for accuracy.
• Maintain specimen integrity by following proper handling and storage procedures.
• Explain collection procedures to patients professionally and courteously.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and laboratory safety standards.
• Travel between multiple assigned locations based on business needs.

• Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital, laboratory, or patient service center.
• Experience drawing blood from pediatric and geriatric patient populations.
• Comfortable working in a float role and traveling between multiple locations.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Phlebotomy Certification (where required).
• Strong patient communication and customer service skills.
