Provides legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries to ensure their effective operation in accordance with federal, state and local Laws.

Essential Functions

  • Provide legal counsel on an assigned basis to members of management & various departments concerning areas of expertise.
  • Oversee & evaluate the performance and progress of outside counsel representing the company in department specific matters.
  • Evaluate, determine & coordinate appropriate action / position / response to be taken by the company.
  • Act on behalf of company and participate in negotiations and drafting of legal documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Juris doctorate degree and admission to the bar.

Minimum Experience

Ten (10) years experience as an attorney with at least three (3) years experience in job specific area of law required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong negotiation, human relations and communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Provides critical legal support for regulatory matters, with strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and technology skills. Experience in transportation and regulatory compliance, enforcement actions, citations, and NOVs. Expertise in U.S. or Canadian customs, highway safety, industrial hygiene, and/or OSHA. Ability to review sampling data, communicate with SMEs and leaders, ensure compliance, and apply knowledge of federal/state regulations, Power BI, and AI platforms.

Pay: Memphis: $13,169.66/mo - $23,046.90/mo | Pittsburgh: $13,862.80/mo - $24,259.90/mo

Additional Details: This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA and candidates must live withina 50-mile radius. Employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week.
