Supplier Quality Management Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Oversee supplier quality management process. Test and inspect products at various stages of the production process, including First Articles, compile and evaluate data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Lead supplier corrective action process, supplier monitoring, and qualification process.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures and work instructions
• Incoming Inspection
  
  
  
  • Conduct visual, functional, and dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Record inspection results, maintain quality records, and generate reports for supplier quality and release approved materials to inventory
  • Verify supplier documents, including Certificates of Conformance (CoC), test reports, and packing lists
  • Identify, document, and place rejected materials on hold, and initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
  
  
  
  
• Execute the Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs) process issuing to suppliers. Work with purchasing, engineering, and warehouse teams to resolve quality issues and provide feedback to suppliers
• Complete supplier audits
• Monitor supplier performance
• Lead supplier qualification and reevaluation process
• Assist in developing Test Procedures and Work Instructions
• Assist in development and implementation of training programs, provide training
• Assist in projects relative to Customer complaints/investigations and continuous improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required Education & Skillsets:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance function in manufacturing environment
• Driver's license in good standing
• Ability to use a computer; (e.g. manufacturing software, e-mail, Internet)
• Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook
• Ability to follow documented procedures and standards and keep accurate records
• Excellent time-management skills; ability to perform multi-tasks in a fast- paced environment
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
• Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g. safety rules, operating or procedure manuals
• Ability to write reports and correspondence, maintain records, inventories or other logs
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts; percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals
• Ability to travel between facilities or to customers; maintain a good driving record
• Ability to communicate effectively with workers, contractors, supervisors and leaders

Preferred Education & Skillsets:

• High School Diploma or GED with some secondary education

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee must:

• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds
• Be able to work 8 hours shifts
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
• Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces
• Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
• Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks

PPE Requirements: Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment including;

• Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
• Safety Glasses
• Bump Caps
• Protective Gloves; when performing certain tasks
• Hearing Protection; when required
• Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks

Work Environment: Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment.

• Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot
• Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes and odors
• May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards
