Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Fabricator to support the assembly and fabrication of electrical control panels and enclosures. This position is responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints, laying out components, fabricating enclosure back panels, and assembling parts using a variety of hand and power tools. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing high-quality work in a safe manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine material requirements and assembly sequences.
  • Lay out wireway, DIN rail, and electrical components on enclosure back panels according to specifications.
  • Position, align, and secure components prior to assembly using precision measuring tools.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including brakes, shears, grinders, drill presses, punches, and other shop machinery.
  • Cut, drill, tap, punch, and assemble components according to engineering specifications.
  • Inspect workpieces and completed assemblies to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Use measuring tools, straightedges, calipers, rulers, and templates to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  • Basic fabrication experience using hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Ability to operate fabrication machinery such as drill presses, brakes, shears, grinders, and punches.
  • Experience using measuring instruments, including rulers, calipers, straightedges, and templates.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to work with standard and metric measurements.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.


Work Experience



  • Previous fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, sheet metal, or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience using drills, taps, punches, and other basic hand and power tools preferred.
