Job Title: Body Technician II and III
Location: Rockledge, FL
Employment: Contract to Hire
Industry: Marine Manufacturing
Compensation: $19.50 - $22.00/ hour depending on experience
Schedule: 1st shift, 40 hours/ week
About the Opportunity:
This Body Technician smooths surface imperfections and prepares marine tower products for painting. This individual will independently perform body repair and surface preparation on marine tower products and are responsible for ensuring smooth, paint-ready finishes while adhering to safety and quality standards. There will also be an opporunity to provide guidance to entry-level technicians.

What You'll Do:
  • Applies rough body filler to fill cavities and dents.
  • Uses sanding equipment to smooth any surface imperfections.
  • Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
  • Works under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions, and established procedures.
  • Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in proper working order.
  • Maintains and wears all necessary safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
  • Reports any deviations to management.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect paint department operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.
  • Identifies and corrects imperfections without direct supervision.
  • Reads and interprets work orders, blueprints, and instructions.
  • Trains and supports Body Tech I employees on basic techniques.
  • Ensures work areas remain organized, safe, and compliant with standards.
  • May assist in small repair or touch-up paint prep.
  • Completes assigned work with minimal rework needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of body experience in Marine Manufacturing.
  • 3-5 years of experience in boats, fairing molds, or mold prep.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Automotive or marine Technician industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete prep work with quality results.
  • Experience at Cessna.
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
  • Additional overtime needed depending on manufacturing needs.
  • Office Environment - ability to use computers and office equipment, light lifting and other physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs. of force.
  • Must be able to grip fine contacts and wires with one hand and operate crimping tool with the other hand.
  • Must be able to see fine components and have manual dexterity to properly place and solder these components.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. for at least 15 feet.
  • Safety Glasses must be worn at all times when in certain production areas.
  • Enclosed non-skid shoes must be worn at all times when in the production areas.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses may be needed and worn.
