Bring your peri-anesthesia expertise to a highly specialized nursing role where vigilant assessment, clinical judgment, and compassionate communication directly support safe procedural care for pediatric and adult patients. As a Registered Nurse with UVA Health's Non-OR Anesthesia Nursing Team, you will guide patients through the full anesthesia experience in procedural settings outside the operating room. Based at University Hospital, this role combines focused pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure collaboration, and post-anesthesia recovery across Radiology and Brachytherapy at the Cancer Center. This full-time opportunity offers service coverage Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with no weekends, holidays, or call requirements. The Role This is an opportunity to practice comprehensive peri-anesthesia nursing in a dynamic environment serving patients undergoing imaging, procedures, and treatments that require anesthesia. You will work closely with anesthesiologists, radiologists, and interdisciplinary colleagues while providing continuity, reassurance, and precise clinical oversight throughout the patient journey. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly.
