Job Summary

The Plant Operations Technician is responsible for starting, operating, monitoring, and maintaining ultra-high-purity nitrogen production facilities. This role supports reliable plant operation and customer gas supply by monitoring process control systems, performing routine maintenance, responding to alarms and operational issues, and completing preventive maintenance activities. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, the ability to work independently and as part of an onsite team, and flexibility to support 12-hour shifts and on-call rotations.

Job Responsibilities



  • Start up, operate, and monitor two ultra-high-purity nitrogen plants using air separation units.
  • Adjust plant operations through process control systems to meet production and customer supply requirements.
  • Perform routine operational and maintenance activities as part of an onsite team.
  • Respond to plant alarms and operational issues during nights, weekends, holidays, and assigned on-call rotations.
  • Conduct daily plant rounds and record operating readings.
  • Calibrate onsite gas analyzers.
  • Monitor cryogenic tank inventories to maintain a reliable customer gas supply.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance work orders in accordance with established maintenance programs.
  • Maintain compressors, piping systems, cooling water systems, and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot cryogenic gas systems and interpret P&IDs to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safe and reliable plant operations.


Job Requirements



  • At least 1 year of relevant plant operations, industrial operations, or maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and operator interface/control systems (HMIs).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and stairs.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED.
