Summary

The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day human resources support to assigned business units under the direction of the HR Director. This position assists with recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, training, employee communications, and other HR initiatives. The HR Generalist serves as a resource to managers and employees while providing administrative and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of human resources programs and services. The role may perform both professional and administrative HR duties based on business needs and priorities established by HR leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Manager Support

  • Assist managers and employees with HR-related questions, concerns, and employment matters.

  • Support employee relations investigations, documentation, and follow-up activities as directed by the HR Director.

  • Provide guidance regarding company policies, procedures, and employment practices.

  • Assist with performance management processes, employee coaching documentation, and corrective action administration.

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Coordinate recruiting activities, candidate interviews, and hiring processes.

  • Assist with job postings, applicant screening, and offer preparation.

  • Coordinate onboarding processes and new hire orientation activities.

  • Support employee transfers, promotions, status changes, and terminations.

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee records and ensure HR documentation is accurate and complete.

  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, compliance tracking, and record retention requirements.

  • Coordinate drug screenings, background checks, and employment verification activities.

  • Support leave administration and employee benefits communications.

Training & Employee Development

  • Coordinate training programs and employee development initiatives.

  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of HR-related training materials.

  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives as directed.

Compliance & Special Projects

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

  • Support implementation of HR initiatives, programs, and process improvements.

  • Participate in special projects and other assignments as directed by the HR Director.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2-5 years of human resources experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and employment law fundamentals.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or related certification preferred but not required.
