Health, Counseling, DAS Job Description
Health, Counseling, and Disability Access Services are seeking a Nurse Practitioner at an active university health center. University Health Services is an ambulatory care clinic staffed by a health care provider who collaborates with physicians from various disciplines. The department is committed to providing integrated and effective medical, mental health, health promotion and public health services for the University's student body. Job Duties Include: * Deliver primary care services to UMSL students emphasizing the promotion of health and the prevention of disease. Inherent in this role is independence and autonomy of practice within the framework of established guidelines. * Conduct focused health history and performs physical examination as indicated by patient's reason for visit. * Order and interpret diagnostic tests. * Identify and manage common-health problems, both acute and chronic in accordance with approved guidelines. * Prescribe a variety of modalities to treat illness and meet wellness needs including, but not limited to medications, nutrition, exercise, and traditional nursing treatment. * Consult with collaborative physicians in planning for client care and makes referrals to other disciplines as indicated. The successful candidate will be an experienced medical provider who possesses strong interpersonal, oral, and written skills; a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, campus partners, and student groups; have a commitment to actively engage in practice with a broad range of patients and presenting concerns; and interpersonal flexibility with a sense of humor. M-F, 8am-5pm Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Licensure as required for position. Preferred Qualifications
Anticipated Hiring Range
$82,000-$125,000 Grade: GGS-013 Application Materials
