Overview

We are seeking a motivated Biomedical Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and electronics experience who are looking to build a rewarding career in healthcare technology. Previous biomedical experience is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong foundation in electronics, troubleshooting, and hands-on mechanical work.

The Biomedical Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of medical equipment to help ensure safe and reliable operation throughout the healthcare environment.

The BMET 1 position is an entry level position. The technician maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of a limited scope of biomedical equipment under the guidance and direct supervision of an experienced healthcare technology management (HTM) professional. (Guidelines)The BMET 1 will demonstrate basic knowledge of the job, activity or function, needs supervision or mentoring on advanced assignments.


Qualifications

Certifications: Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), Education: Experience In Lieu of Education; Associate's Degree: Related Field, Work Experience: Biomedical electronics
Responsibilities

Exhibits a basic understanding and knowledge of the job and can communicate the use of devices supported.Can provide basic support of acuity equipment for direct patient care.Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support(hospital, clinic,etc.)Has a basic understanding of both local and national safety regulatory issues.Able to solve basic front-line customer service issues.Demonstrate the ability to maintain the medical equipment assigned Demonstrate the ability to learn from others on the job. Can teach basic skills to new hires and interns. Demonstrates a basic understanding of clinical equipment, radilogical, laboratory and network medical systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $24.53per hour - $40.97per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
