Content Operations Program Manager

Contract: 1 year, with potential for extension based on performance and business needs

Location: Hybrid - Remote Monday & Friday; Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

NO C2C AND THIS IS NOT AN IT ROLE

Position Overview

The Content Operations Program Manager will support a global pharmaceutical company's Content Operations organization, helping establish and optimize the processes, governance, and operating structure needed to support multiple digital content teams. Reporting into Content Operations leadership, this role will work across Web, ISA, Banner Ads, Patient Services App, and Digital Asset Management (DAM) teams to improve operational alignment, project visibility, process consistency, and cross-functional execution. A key focus of the role will be helping establish a Project Management Office (PMO) within Content Operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong program management and operations experience, with the ability to build processes, establish best practices, and influence teams as they adopt new ways of working. The role will also support the organization's newly implemented Workfront platform by helping teams establish consistent workflows, follow best practices, and maintain accurate data to improve project visibility and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and establishment of a Project Management Office within Content Operations.
  • Develop and implement standardized project management, governance, and operational processes across multiple teams.
  • Help teams effectively adopt and utilize Workfront, including establishing best practices, workflows, and data standards.
  • Drive consistency and alignment in how projects, requests, milestones, and operational information are managed.
  • Partner with Content Operations leadership to identify operational gaps and develop practical solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives across Web, ISA, Banner Ads, Patient Services App, DAM, Email, and other related teams as needed.
  • Establish processes that improve visibility into project status, priorities, dependencies, timelines, and operational performance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, planning sessions, and project reviews to ensure alignment and accountability.
  • Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, and action items and communicate updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, process guides, workflows, and other operational resources.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce operational friction.
  • Support operational reporting and provide leadership with clear visibility into program and project performance.
  • Collaborate with sister teams to help develop and implement consistent processes that can be leveraged across the broader organization.
  • Work with teams supporting the digital content ecosystem to help ensure processes and workflows align across platforms and channels.
  • Support the organization's continued adoption of AI-enabled tools and evolving operational practices.

Content Operations Focus

This role will focus on the marketing operations layer of content, rather than hands-on creative development. Content Operations takes creative content and ensures it is appropriately prepared, managed, transformed, and deployed as digital assets across the channels and formats required by the business. The Program Manager will help ensure the processes supporting this work are organized, scalable, and aligned across teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in program management, operations management, process management, content operations, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in program/project management within a complex, cross-functional organization.
  • Experience establishing or improving operational processes, governance, workflows, and best practices.
  • Experience working within content operations or digital content environments.
  • Pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple teams and stakeholders across a large organization.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting the implementation or adoption of project management systems; Workfront experience is highly desirable.
  • Technical savviness and the ability to understand how digital platforms and systems work together.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM), content management systems, and digital ecosystems is preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to establish structure and processes in an evolving environment.
  • Comfortable working across teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
