Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Additional 8% shift differential

Schedule:



  • 32 hours per week
  • Saturday:12-hour shift
  • Sunday:12-hour shift
  • One additional 8-hour shift during the week
  • Weekday shift can be flexible.

Job Duties

  • Perform manual and mechanical preform operations and glass-handling techniques supporting MCVD production.
  • Set up and operate multiple computerized lathes and production equipment.
  • Follow established work instructions, procedures, and manufacturing guidelines.
  • Operate production-tracking software and maintain accurate production records.
  • Perform preform index profile testing to inspect manufactured products.
  • Etch preforms using acid to achieve required diameters.
  • Inspect lathes and GDS equipment for leaks, damaged components, or other issues.
  • Modify recipe phases to achieve appropriate heat, solenoid, and mode-code settings.
  • Handle and transport corrosive chemicals and gases used in the manufacturing process according to established safety procedures.
  • Read and interpret GDS schematics.
  • Assist with developing and documenting manufacturing procedures, processes, and equipment.
  • Support training activities for other employees within the department.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives supporting department and business objectives.
  • Perform other production and manufacturing duties as assigned.



Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education or technical training preferred.
  • 5+ years of similar manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience working with chemicals and/or gases preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Experience with glass working and glass-working equipment highly preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Strong math skills, including fractions, decimals, metrics, formulas, conversions, and basic calculations.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Ability to read drawings and understand product specifications.
  • Ability to read GDS schematics.
  • Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
