Spring 2027 Intern - Data Analytics

Workiva's Data & Analytics (DnA) team is looking for a curious and motivated Data Product Management Intern to gain hands-on experience building data products that help teams make better decisions.

Reporting to and mentored by a Lead Data Product Manager within Workiva's Business Technology organization, you'll learn how product managers translate business needs into well-defined data solutions. Over a 10-12 week internship, you'll contribute to one or two scoped projects while gaining exposure to data product management, stakeholder collaboration, data governance, and AI-enabled workflows.

What You'll Do

• Partner with your mentor to understand business needs and translate them into clearly defined product requirements.
• Support discovery and prioritization by gathering stakeholder input and identifying opportunities to improve how data is accessed and used.
• Contribute to scoped data product features or improvements through parts of the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and Data Science teams to understand how data products are designed and delivered.
• Help document data definitions, requirements, acceptance criteria, and product decisions.
• Assist with data cataloging, documentation, and identifying data quality opportunities.
• Use AI tools to support product workflows such as requirements development, SQL validation, documentation, and release notes.
• Gain exposure to tools and technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Atlan, Jira, and BI platforms.
• Present your project outcomes and key learnings to the team at the conclusion of the internship.

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Coursework, academic projects, or internship experience with SQL and basic data concepts.
• Interest in product management, data, technology, or data-driven decision-making.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with SQL, data concepts, or tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Tableau, Jira, or similar technologies.
• Interest in AI/LLM tools and their application to business and product workflows.

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

• Minimal travel
• Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
