Overview

The Personnel Security group has an immediate need for motivated individuals to perform Badge Control duties in the Groton, CT and/or New London, CT facilities.

Administrative Clerks in the group handle administrative tasks for security functions. This position is a 2nd shift opportunity with scheduled hours from 12:00PM to 8:00PM.

Badge Control responsibilities include:

    Process all visit requests for incoming visitors and traveling employees.
  • Create badges for visitors and employees.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Fingerprinting applicants.
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external customers for site access and ensure compliance with the security policies and procedures as it pertains to visitor management.

Individual must possess excellent organization skills and ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels. The ability to work independently and make conscious decisions in a high volume environment is integral to this position.

Successful candidates will be assigned to either Badge Control in Groton, CT or New London, CT based on need within the group.

A flexible schedule and overtime may be required.

Other related duties will be assigned as required.



Qualifications

Required:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of administrative experience

Preferred:

  • College degree
  • Experience with Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and/or National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
  • Experience performing similar duties in an industrial DoD environment
  • Knowledge of NISPOM Rule requirements for processing security clearances and visit requests


Skills

Successful candidates will:

  • Be able to work independently in a fast paced and challenging environment and have experience working on multi-functional teams.
  • Be detail oriented
  • Have knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience in a customer service organization
