General Purpose of Job: Essential Duties: This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Team members may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. * Perform calibration, commissioning, and ongoing quality assurance of Radiation Oncology equipment. * Conduct acceptance testing and commissioning of new radiation therapy equipment and systems. * Provide patient-specific treatment planning and dosimetric support for external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy. * Participate in brachytherapy procedures, including treatment planning, delivery support, and quality assurance. * Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and institutional quality and safety standards. * Develop, implement, and evaluate new radiation therapy procedures, techniques, and technologies to improve patient care. * Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy. * Provide education and training to clinical staff, residents, and students, as appropriate. * Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and support continuous process improvement. * Support clinical physics operations for current and evolving technologies, including IGRT, SGRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, adaptive SBRT, HDR brachytherapy, and the transition to Varian Aria/Eclipse and new Varian treatment platforms. * Utilize and support physics quality assurance systems and equipment, including SNC SRS MapCHECK, ArcCHECK, IC Profiler, DQA4, DQA-MR, SunSCAN 3D, SunCHECK Machine, and associated chambers, electrometers, diode detectors, and phantoms. Job Requirements
-The HHCC currently operates two matched Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators, a ViewRay MRIdian, and a GE Discovery-RT simulator, with RayStation and ViewRay treatment planning systems and an HDR brachytherapy program utilizing Flexitron/Oncentra. The center currently uses Mosaiq OIS and provides IGRT, SGRT, IMRT, VMAT, and SBRT on the Versa linacs, as well as adaptive SBRT on the MRIdian. HHCC is transitioning to Varian Aria/Eclipse and plans to operate two matched TrueBeams, a Varian Edge, and the MRIdian for a total of four linear accelerators by early 2028. -Candidates who have recently completed a CAMPEP-accredited residency program and are board eligible will also be considered.
