Position Summary
This is a professional position based in the Gillings School of Global Public Health, NC Occupational Safety and Health Education Resource Center (NC OSHERC), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, located within the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at Chapel Hill.

The purpose of this position is to support NC OSHERC's mission by providing technical expertise and administrative support to the NC OSHRERC's Outreach and Continuing Education programs. This includes working with the Outreach and Continuing Education ( OCE) Director and the Center Director, NC OSHERC program directors, and internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver high level, targeted technical assistance and training to serve the needs of the North Carolina and the Southeastern region's workforce, in particular the essential and underrepresented workers, as well as small- and medium-sized businesses who often lack resources to protect the safety and well-being of their workers.

The individual in this position will be required to interact with faculty, staff, and students from the academic, targeted research training, and outreach and continuing education environments, as well as representatives from the public and private sectors and professional societies, and practitioners from all fields of occupational and environmental health and safety disciplines. The individual will (1) help develop and coordinate outreach and continuing education training programs, assist with NC OSHERC's research activities related to occupational safety and health, and will respond to technical assistance requests from private and public organizations as to their education and training needs; (2) provide technical and administrative support by identifying, tracking, and evaluating continuing education and outreach opportunities, and (3) assist in defining and executing the NC OSHERC policies and strategic plans to accomplish the mission and vision of the NC OSHERC.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's or Bachelor's and 0-2 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities relevant to the teaching assignment, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.
- Project Management experience required
- Experience with the development of grant proposals required
- Experience with the development of manuscripts required
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Knowledge of managing and coordinating research projects, preferable concerning occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, total worker health, and related public health areas
-Advanced computer skills
-Familiarity with the UNC system ( CANVAS, Ramses, Connect Carolina, OSR, IRBs) preferred
