JOB TYPE Classification: Non Exempt Supervises Positions: JOB SUMMARYLeads patients in all disciplines of Cardiac Rehabilitation in accordance with current cardiac rehabilitation policies and procedures with an emphasis on cardiac health as it relates to exercise. Formulate and modify exercise prescriptions for new Cardiac Rehabilitation participants based on medical history and special needs. QUALIFICATIONS Education:Graduate Degree required - Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology. Experience:Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinic, or experience as an Exercise Physiologist preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure:ACSM exercise related certification required. Additional Skills/Requirements Required:Practical and theoretical knowledge of all phases of routine and critical cardiac and respiratory care, with an emphasis on adult, chronic disease management. Abilities to perform decisively in critical situations and to incorporate many types of data. Has the knowledge, skills, and ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Has the ability to supervise exercise, monitor patients during exercise, and modify exercise prescriptions for cardio-pulmonary patients, in conjunction with registered nurses and/or physician as needed. Has effective communication and interpersonal skills to relate to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other department and hospital staff. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:N/A Competencies:

Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment. The base compensation range for this role is $21.61 - $36.50 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
