Summary/Purpose of the Position:

The Vendor Cost Specialist maintains and updates accurate product costs and lists price data in PIM (Product Information Management) systems by receiving and processing price update information from vendors. This role also resolves cost issues emailed to the Product Team box quickly and accurately.



Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:




  • Receive cost updates from vendors on an ongoing basis, apply updates to all matching products accurately and in a timely manner





  • Work with product line managers and vendors to resolve issues with products that don't match vendor update files





  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with vendors to facilitate communication and problem solving





  • Maintain and update the price book, updating web prices when costs are updated





  • Improve the cost update process to improve efficiency and align with changing business needs





  • Ensures accuracy of cost changes and list prices loaded into systems





  • Resolve cost issues emailed from sellers and service teams to the PDG box within 4 hours of receipt; Communicate resolution back to sender





  • Work larger projects involved with updating an entire vendor's pricing in the Company's Product Catalog. Tasks could include selecting vendors to work on, reaching out to vendors for pricing information, uploading data, resolving individual cost/price issues with products





  • Work with the pricing team to initiate ongoing communications to customer- facing teams when a price change has been implemented





  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:




  • High school diploma, or equivalent required





  • 2+ years' experience maintaining data in a business-to-business environment is preferred





  • Able to align goals with business objectives





  • Business Acumen (basic understanding of finance, accounting, marketing, and operations)





  • Experienced phone etiquette





  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills





  • Detail-oriented, team player, organized, self-starter, and self-motivated





  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Excel; Access experience a plus





  • Detail oriented, self-directed, organized, and efficient at time management





  • Focused on results rather than activities





  • Able to acquire working knowledge of PIM and company ERP System





  • Able to make value-added recommendations





  • Able to adjust easily to change, prioritize work, and meet deadlines





Physical Requirements:




  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.





  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
