Under general direction of the Coding Manager and according to established procedures, this position assigns ICD and CPT codes for patients receiving ancillary and surgical services at UCSD Health System. Assigns all applicable APC's for patient accounts as well as CPTs for professional records necessary for compliant billing; abstracts all coded data into abstracting information system. Responsible for data entry into electronic databases for use in assessing quality of patient care, outcome analysis, and financial management. Depending on experience and licensure of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Health Information Coder level I or level III.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $86,527 - $107,657 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $41.44 - $51.56 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
