Description

Position Summary:

Primary responsibilities include receiving and material handling related activities associated with fabrication shop work including the receiving and checking in of the inbound material deliveries, moving and staging materials within the shop area, and kitting materials for use on the production line. Provides information needed to maintain receiving records and provides daily updates to supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive, handle, and organize inbound and outland material shipments.
  • Moving and staging materials within the shop area
  • Handling large loads(> 15k pounds)
  • Operate various sized forklifts up to a 30K LB lift
  • Operate a COMBI-Lift
  • Operate a Telehandler forklift.
  • Participates with receiving inbound material, unloading, and staging.
  • Stage and load finished goods as well as assist in tarping.
  • Helps to provides verification against purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips.
  • Assists in the non-conformance reporting process and placing non-conforming material in quarantine area.
  • Ensures inbound materials are logged, inventoried, and/or marked as appropriate and receiving logs are updated with production team leaders.
  • Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Places materials in proper staging area according to staging management plans.
  • Moves materials to or from staging areas to designated work areas.
  • Removes shipping pallets, packaging, and other shipping waste materials from shop and places in appropriate dumpster.
  • Assists in packaging, securing and wrapping RK finished products in preparation for shipping.
  • Inspects and maintains production shop and staging areas for cleanliness and hazards and reports problems to supervisor.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, carts, tables, and shelves by hand, cart or forklift.
  • Assists with receiving paperwork per company processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Accountability:

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

Career Level: Material Handler 1

  • 0-2 years warehouse or construction experience or similar.
  • Receives direct supervision.
  • Work is generally structured or recurring.
  • Objectives based on established guidelines, processes and operating procedures.
  • Relevant past experience is not necessarily required.

Career Level: Material Handler 2

  • 2-3 years warehouse or construction experience or similar.
  • Works independently with some direct supervision.
  • Work is generally structured or recurring.
  • Objectives based on established guidelines, processes and operating procedures.
  • Gains understanding of materials handling and receiving management processes.
  • Gains knowledge in reading and comprehending drawings, purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips.

Career Level: Material Handler 3

  • 3-4 years warehouse or construction trade experience or similar.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision
  • Performs technical responsibilities associated with receiving processes and procedures.
  • Objectives based on established guidelines, processes and operating procedures.
  • Good understanding of materials handling and receiving management processes
  • Good knowledge in reading and comprehending drawings, purchase orders, bills of lading, and packing slips.
