Red Valve Gastonia is looking for a Cycle Count/ Inventory Control to join our Manufacturing team. The Cycle Counter is responsible for verifying and maintaining inventory and location accuracy to meet operational and financial requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Develop processes to manage and monitor inventory and location accuracy.
  • Manage count coverage and reconcile status of inventory items as required. This is accomplished with the aid of computer-generated information along with physical counts.
  • Manage discrepancies in counts in which must be investigated to determine the cause for the error and if possible, eliminate the cause from reoccurring. Tracing the paperwork trail by verifying BOM's, SIT's, NCR's, checking similar parts, returned goods, processing errors, pick and/or inventory transactions, customer or shipment errors etc.
  • Work in conjunction with Planners, Customer Service, Return Goods, Shipping Crew, Engineers and Shop Floor Personnel to reconcile inventory issues resulting from counts being suspect.
  • Back-up for Labor Reporting.
  • Provide a great deal of shop floor support in answering questions on how to handle transactions, training on the Barcode system and the importance of keeping the inventory accurate.
  • Work throughout the year with outside auditing firms in conjunction with inventory.
  • Maintain 4 Exception Reports.
  • Continual Cleanup of outstanding production orders that have not been reported to put inventory to stock.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years of continued education in a Business/Materials related field
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment/ERP system
Skills/Experience
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills a necessity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Need to excel at using analytical skills to identify and problem solve
  • Working knowledge of shop floor activities including product flow, order flow, identification and location procedures and individual responsibilities
  • Attention to detail, with high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to understand prints and manufacturing processes helpful
  • Valve product knowledge an asset
