Market Leader - Houston or The Woodlands, TX
Halff is seeking a dynamic and well-connected Houston Market Leader to accelerate growth across the Houston metropolitan region. This highly visible leadership role will serve as the market-facing representative for Halff, driving strategic business development, strengthening client relationships, identifying emerging opportunities, and promoting the full breadth of Halff's multidisciplinary services. The ideal candidate is a proven seller-doer with a strong network throughout the Houston market and a demonstrated ability to develop strategy, position teams for success, and lead complex pursuits that result in long-term client relationships and sustainable growth.
What you will do:
- Develop and execute market growth strategies that increase Halff's presence and market share across the Houston metropolitan region.
- Serve as the primary market ambassador and relationship leader for key public and private sector clients, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities across multiple market sectors and service lines.
- Build, maintain, and actively manage a robust pipeline of opportunities and strategic client relationships.
- Lead strategic positioning efforts for major pursuits, including client development, competitor analysis, teaming strategies, and pursuit planning.
- Coordinate and promote cross-selling opportunities across Halff's practice to deliver integrated solutions and maximize client value.
- Collaborate with Solution Leaders, Practice Leaders, Operations, Directors, Team Leaders, and Marketing staff to align market strategies with firmwide growth objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key industry organizations, business groups, and community leaders throughout the region.
- Lead high-profile and complex pursuits from initial positioning through proposal submission, interviews, and contract award.
- Monitor market trends, funding programs, regulatory changes, and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence, client insights, and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Represent Halff at industry events, conferences, professional organizations, and key community functions.
What you will need:
- Established reputation and extensive professional network within the Houston AEC market.
- Proven track record of developing client relationships and generating significant business growth.
- Demonstrated success leading major pursuits and winning complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong understanding of the Houston business environment, public agencies, private development community, and industry partners.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to influence and lead without direct authority across multiple practices and offices.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and market awareness.
- Experience developing and executing market growth strategies.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in the AEC industry.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or professional licensure preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout the Houston metropolitan region and other Halff offices as necessary.
- Existing relationships with key Houston-area municipalities, counties, agencies, utility providers, developers, architects, and industry organizations.
- Active participation and/or leadership within organizations such as ACEC, ULI, NAIOP, GHBA, AIA, AGC, or similar regional associations.
- Experience expanding market presence across multiple disciplines and service offerings.
- Demonstrated history of building strategic partnerships that lead to sustained revenue growth.
