Aquent is seeking a visionary Social Media Specialist to join a leading firm at the forefront of the financial services sector. This is a unique opportunity to define and elevate the digital presence of a dynamic organization, shaping its brand voice and making complex financial concepts accessible and engaging to a broad audience. As a foundational member of the team, you will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives, fostering community, and directly impacting how the firm connects with its partners and clients across key platforms.

About the Role

This is a pivotal role that blends high-level strategy with hands-on execution, offering the chance to stand up, refine, and lead the social media presence for a forward-thinking organization. You will be at the heart of shaping the brand's voice, translating intricate financial ideas into digestible content, and adapting campaign messaging across various channels, with a primary focus on LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook. Beyond content creation, this role features a crucial consultative component. You will collaborate closely with internal marketing teams, presenting design concepts and strategic points-of-view in virtual meetings with partner firms. Your ability to articulate the "why" behind your choices and ask insightful discovery questions will be key to uncovering partner needs and ensuring impactful outcomes. Given this is a newly defined role in an evolving landscape, you will thrive on navigating ambiguity, charting a clear path forward, and collaborating seamlessly with centralized Content and MarComms teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a nimble, scalable social media strategy aligned with overall brand, campaign, and business priorities.
  • Participate in virtual client-facing calls with transition partners; confidently present social designs, articulate the strategic rationale, and ask probing questions to extract key messaging goals.
  • Establish social media guidelines, governance, and workflows to ensure brand consistency as the social presence grows.
  • Translate complex financial topics (e.g., tax planning, estate planning, wealth management) into digestible, engaging, and channel-appropriate content across LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Partner with centralized Content (blog/article writers) and MarComms (PR and product leads) teams to repurpose core content into high-impact social assets.
  • Collaborate with creative resources to conceptualize strong digital visual assets, including optimized YouTube thumbnails and channel graphics.
  • Plan, write, schedule, and publish day-to-day posts across all active platforms.
  • Monitor channel performance, community engagement, and key metrics across platforms.
  • Work alongside analytics leads to conduct regular content audits, refining tone, publishing cadence, and visual direction based on data.
  • Stay current on platform-specific best practices, algorithms, and social media management frameworks.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong background in financial services, wealth management, or a heavily regulated industry, with a solid understanding of industry concepts, terminology, and compliance considerations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Confident and well-spoken in virtual partner meetings with the ability to articulate design logic and lead discovery discussions.
  • 4-5+ years of social media experience driving strategy, execution, and content adaptation across B2B, B2C, and affiliate/partner models.
  • Deep hands-on experience with LinkedIn (primary platform) and YouTube, alongside Facebook and native or third-party scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Canva).
  • Proven ability to work independently, self-manage deadlines, and bring order and structure to a newly defined role.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working directly alongside MarComms, PR, or product marketing teams.
  • Hands-on experience creating or directing visual social media assets, including YouTube thumb strategy and digital image sizing.
