Maintenance Technician II

Position Summary

Our Quick Coupling Division is looking for new a Maintenance Technician to help keep the world moving. Our Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, relocation, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role performs preventive and predictive maintenance to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Parker's Quick Coupling Division is the largest manufacturer of quick couplings in the world. A quick coupling is used to provide a fast, make-or-break connection of fluid or gas transfer lines. Our plants provide critical equipment for many different industries including Agriculture, Construction, and Data Processing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in rigging, moving and erecting all types of machine tools and equipment for new installations or intra-plant layout changes.
• Assist in securing, leveling and aligning machines properly. Erect large machines, etc., when shipped or moved in parts or sections.
• Dismantle and reassemble machines undergoing repairs, overhauls and/or rebuilds.
• Perform structural and sheet metal work, concrete and masonry work, rough carpentry, pipe fitting, plumbing, electrical, welding, etc. incidental to operations.
• Oil and lubricate machines and equipment as necessary.
• Maintain buildings which include the repair of windows, doors, roof, floors, stairways, light fixtures, etc.; constructs shop partitions, bins, racks, pallets, shipping crates, etc.
• Conducts safety checks
• Maintain inventory control of maintenance supplies.
• Assist in operation of heating/air conditioning, plumbing and electrical facilities.
• Perform electrical duties such as pulling wire, hanging conduit, wiring boxes and circuit breaker panels. Do necessary trouble shooting of electrical problems and fix.
• Have knowledge and the ability to work on pneumatic solenoids, switches, air gages and other pneumatic equipment.
• Do preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Have knowledge and the ability to work on electronic equipment, to trouble shoot and repair or send to an outside source.
• Have the knowledge and the ability to work on hydraulic equipment, to trouble shoot and repair.
• Must understand: solid state and conventional designs; logic, control, sensing, analyzing and power circuits; high voltage, radio frequency circuits; inductive/reactive problems, single and poly-phase; motor control, DC and AC.
• Responsible for development of maintenance training curriculum when needed and identify appropriate prepared curriculum from outside sources.
• Responsible to pre-test, conduct training classes and certify maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and electronic systems.
  Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
• Experience performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery, facility systems, and support equipment.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, sensors, control circuits, wiring, conduit, circuit breaker panels, and industrial automation equipment.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, electrical safety, hot work, confined space, and applicable OSHA/company safety requirements.
• Ability to use computers and maintenance systems to enter work orders, document repairs, track downtime, and support inventory control of maintenance supplies.
• Forklift license required; technical training, maintenance certifications, or completion/pursuit of a Technical Trainer Course preferred.
