Student Nurse Extern (Winter 2026) - MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

Nursing Students! Are you looking for an opportunity to improve your critical thinking and fundamental skills? Come join us at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for our Winter 2026 Student Nurse Extern Cohort!

The Nurse Extern Winter 2026 Cohort will begin in December, 2026 (Date to be determined) and conclud after 4 weeks. You will be working 36 to 40 hours per week, which will include shift and weekend rotation, during this 4 week period.

Important: You must be available full-time, with no schedule or school conflicts, throughout the program, and for any mandatory training/skills days.

Qualifications for position:

Education:
-Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program and in good standing.

-Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
-Currently in or entering final year (12 months) of nursing program by December 1, 2026.
-Completion of Nursing Fundamentals by December 1, 2026.

Experience:
None

Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Current Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required.
