Manufacturing Quality Control Instructor

Kansas State University's Olathe campus (https://olathe.k-state.edu/) invites qualified scholars and professionals to apply for a part-time, temporary instructor position to teach a 3-credit-hour, asynchronous, online Manufacturing Quality Control Course for spring 2027. As an undergraduate course for the Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology Degree, instruction should support undergraduate students learning about quality concepts and techniques used in industry. Topics include fundamentals of statistics and probability, statistical process control charts, and quality improvement tools.

Instructor positions are non-tenure-track members of the faculty. Positions vary and are dependent upon the need, if any, each semester for the instruction of course(s) contingent on enrollment and staffing. The primary role is instruction with no obligations to perform research or service. The appointment dates will vary based on the type of appointment and the timeframe for the preparation and instruction of the course(s).

This position is Remote required. This position is primarily online, with courses delivered in either synchronous or asynchronous formats depending on program need. Asynchronous instruction is preferred.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing-related Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a degree in a closely related field
* Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional, research, clinical, or instructional experience

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree or higher in a field listed under the minimum degree qualifications
* University-level teaching experience
* Experience with asynchronous course design and delivery
* Experience teaching coursework in online environments

* Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
* Must be able to teach in an online format
