Position Summary

The University of New Mexico-Valencia campus is seeking a professional,
outgoing and dependable individual for an Administrative Assistant 2 position
to support the Business Operations Division.

This position supports multiple departments including Business and
Finance, Information Technologies, Facilities Management, Marketing and Events,
and Capital Projects. This position is a critical component of support
operations as the first point of contact both in-person and telephonically for the
campus community. This position is the point person within an integrated team
that manages the physical campus, and collaborates with multiple departments
and admins.

Responsibilities include travel arrangements, meeting and calendar management,
physical inventory tracking, supply inventories, mail systems, switchboard and front
desk support, ticket system tracking, and fleet management. The ideal candidate will thrive in a
fast-paced environment and can effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
and deadlines working both individually and collaboratively.

The desired candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills
and will ideally be able to demonstrate proficiency with various software
packages including Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Creative Cloud, Banner or
similar platform as well as proficiency with purchasing procedures and travel
policies.

This is a full-time position, working on-campus with occasional travel.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia county, The
University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The
University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region
and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on
teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,
technical vocational programs, Adult Basic Education, and Dual Credit High
School/College courses to Valencia and Socorro Counties.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IT environments
    and/or facilities management and associated work order systems
  • Experience working in an academic
    environment
  • Experience supporting finance
    departments
  • Experience with timekeeping and UKG
    (or similar software)
  • Spanish/English
    bilingual


Additional Requirements
Possession of a valid NM Driver's License within 30 days of hire.
