Our client, a well-known apparel retailer with multiple brands, is looking for a part-time Sample Coordinator to join their merchandising team onsite. You'll keep samples moving through each seasonal flow on time, keep them organized and tracked, and be the go-to person for arrivals and delays. The contract starts at 3 months, but the team wants someone they can keep long term. Strong performers may be extended and take on more responsibility over time. If you're organized, love the details, and want a role that can grow, keep reading. Schedule Details
- Part-time, 3 days per week onsite, with Monday through Wednesday preferred
- Monday matters most because it's when weekend sample deliveries come in
- Hours are usually 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, sometimes running until 5:00 PM when needed
- During peak intake periods (about 3 to 4 weeks each quarter), you may be asked to work full-time hours to handle the extra volume
- December is a big peak month with a large jump in sample shipments
What You'll Do
- Make sure samples arrive on time for each seasonal flow, and follow up when something is running behind
- Receive, log, and organize incoming samples, especially the weekend deliveries that land on Mondays
- Keep accurate receiving records and tracking logs for every sample
- Give the Merchandising team regular updates on arrivals, delays, and anything that could affect timelines
- Build strong working relationships with Brand Merchandise Assistants (MAs) across the team
- Pull product details from several internal systems to build copy fact sheets
- Help the whole team with other projects and day-to-day needs
What You Bring
- 1+ years of experience in sample coordination, merchandising support, product development, or a similar retail or apparel role
- Must be able to work onsite 3 days per week (Monday through Wednesday preferred)
- Flexibility to move to full-time hours during peak periods, including December
- Interest in a longer-term role beyond the first 3 months
- Strong organization skills and good attention to detail
- Clear, proactive communication, especially when timelines shift
- Comfort learning and moving between several systems (PLM or product databases are a plus)
- Solid Excel or Google Sheets skills for tracking and records
- The ability to stay calm and keep things moving when sample volume goes up and down
Nice to Have
- Experience in apparel, accessories, or retail merchandising
- Familiarity with seasonal calendars and product flow
- Experience writing or assembling product copy or fact sheets
