We are seeking an experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician with a strong background in hospital pharmacy operations to help support medication preparation, distribution, and inventory management across our healthcare system. Working under the direction of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist on duty, you will play an important role in ensuring medications are prepared, delivered, and managed safely throughout the hospital. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment, values accuracy and patient safety, and enjoys working closely with pharmacists, nurses, and physicians. What You'll Do As a Hospital Pharmacy Technician, you will support critical pharmacy operations throughout the organization. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and delivering medications across the hospital in accordance with established pharmacy policies and procedures Managing and refilling Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) located throughout the facility Picking, delivering, and restocking Schedule II-VI controlled substances while maintaining strict regulatory compliance Preparing and repackaging unit-dose medications for inpatient care Assisting with sterile and non-sterile compounding following established USP guidelines and pharmacy protocols Providing responsive customer service to nurses, physicians, inpatients, and outpatients Escalating medication-related questions or concerns to the Clinical Pharmacist on duty Managing pharmacy inventory transfers and ensuring accurate movement of medications between the pharmacy and designated inventory locations Your attention to detail and commitment to safety help ensure patients receive the right medications at the right time. Minimum Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred Experience Minimum of 3 years of Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience required Licensure & Certification Active Pharmacy Technician Registration - Commonwealth of Massachusetts (required) National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certifications or completion of an advanced competency certificate program strongly preferred Skills That Set You Apart Strong attention to detail and medication accuracy Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy environment Strong computer and pharmacy system proficiency Ability to maintain confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations Why This Role Matters Pharmacy technicians play a critical role in supporting safe medication distribution, pharmacy workflow, and patient care.
