Description

Weichert Co. is hiring a Real Estate Instructor in Maryland. The Real Estate Instructor is responsible for delivering pre-license, post-license, and continuing education courses to aspiring real estate salespersons and brokers in Maryland. The instructor will lead classroom and/or online training sessions, evaluate student performance, and ensure compliance with the standards set by the Maryland Real Estate Commission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Responsible for the delivery of required intellectual material for successful completion of the Maryland pre-licensing courses.
  • Prepares and follows lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments. Leads classroom discussions on relevant topics and educates students regarding real estate principles and practices. Ensures that courses include a monitored final exam.
  • Evaluates student performance, administers exams, and provides feedback.
  • Accurately completes class records to document compliance with state real estate commissions.
  • Provides information regarding licensing. Answers any questions students may have.
  • Provides a professional and effective learning environment, whether in-person or virtual/distance learning. Keeps a positive learning environment for the participants while always maintaining classroom control.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of Maryland real estate laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ensures compliance with all record keeping, reporting and certification requirements.
  • Promptly communicates with the school office regarding any student issues, schedule changes, or operational concerns that arise during a course, whether conducted in person or virtually.
  • Instructors are responsible for completing all requirements for state license renewals, and continuing education to maintain an active instructor license in good standing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and License Requirements



  • A valid Maryland real estate sales license required


Experience



  • A minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in the subject matter being taught (e.g., sales, pre-licensing, etc.)
  • Experience levels are defined by state statutory requirements, outlined in the "Education, Certification, and License Requirements" section


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • In-depth knowledge of national and state-specific real estate principles and practices
  • Knowledge necessary to operate Power Point presentations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in hosting Zoom sessions, including managing screen sharing, breakout rooms, whiteboards, and participant engagement
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to conduct presentations
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions
  • Knowledge and ability to use typical office equipment (PC, calculator, fax machine, etc.)


The estimated hourly rate for this position is $23 to $34.50. The rate of pay will be based on a sliding scale with student count for each class.
