Hill International is seeking an MEP Inspector in Houston, Texas
- Perform inspections of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related building systems during construction.
- Verify contractor work complies with project plans, specifications, approved shop drawings, and applicable building codes.
- Inspect architectural finishes, building envelope components, roofing systems, doors, windows, partitions, and interior improvements for quality and compliance.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to project schedules.
- Review installation methods, materials, and workmanship for compliance with contract requirements.
- Identify, document, and communicate deficiencies, non-conforming work, and corrective action requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve field issues.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates regarding construction progress and inspection findings.
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, field observations, daily logs, and photographic documentation.
- Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, material samples, and testing reports as needed.
- Witness and verify testing, startup, commissioning, and functional performance activities for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Support project closeout activities, including punch list development, final inspections, and turnover documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Track project progress and proactively identify risks that may impact quality, cost, schedule, or construction performance.
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on commercial, institutional, transportation, aviation, healthcare, education, or public works projects.
- Strong knowledge of building construction methods, architectural finishes, building envelope systems, and MEP infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience preparing inspection reports and maintaining project documentation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.

- ICC Building Inspector Certification
- ICC Mechanical Inspector Certification
- ICC Electrical Inspector Certification
- ICC Plumbing Inspector Certification
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
